A woman accused of shoplifting at Walmart is facing far more serious charges after allegedly kicking, spitting on and attempting to bite Clarksville Police officers.
Chauntel Jackson, 20, of Clarksville is charged with theft of property, vandalism, resisting arrest and three counts of aggravated assault against a public safety employee.
Police were called to the Fort Campbell Boulevard Walmart at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday and placed Jackson under arrest. As she was being handcuffed, she became combatitive and it took three officers to hold her while she was being cuffed, according to a Clarksville Police Department press release.
“She kicked and spat on the first officer, kicked and attempted to bite the second officer, and dug her fingernails into the hand of the third officer,” the press release says. “When Ms. Jackson found the opportunity, she kicked out the rear driver's side window of a CPD squad car and the glass cut the hand and arm of one of the three officers.”
